Grizzly Bear - “While You Wait For The Others” from Veckatimest (Warp)
if one had to find a corresponding grizzly bear image for grizzly bear the band (a task i just undertook), the fierce adult version of the animal doesn’t really work at all. i didn’t like grizz bear’s music for quite a while—it was too nice, too boring, too fancy, etc. etc., and while the new album veckatimest is all those things to some degree, i really like it anyway. i’m also not generally all about acting like the rest of the internet hasn’t been onto these guys forever, but i post this ‘cause i think the track reproduced above should work for just about anybody. it’s a little fussy at first, but stick around for a grrrreat chorus.
